As I was doing my Christmas cards I realized that I am very behind on my blog posts.
Abigail turned 4 on October 27th! I can't believe that she is so big. Since Joshua's super hero birthday party in June she has been telling me that she wanted a super hero/ princess party. I figured she would change her mind when her birthday actually came...but she didn't. When we went to pick out her plates she was very sure about her choice. The boys would get super hero plates and the girls would get princess plates. She pretty much always knows exactly what she wants and no amount of persuading can get her to change her mind.
Her Birthday was wonderful. We did the traditional birthday breakfast with decorations and candles.
Her Birthday fell on a Sunday this year. She was so excited to have the whole primary sing to her, and give her a crown, pencil, and special framed birthday poster!
After Church we decorated Grandma's house in the princess/superhero theme. Then had Abigail's favorite dinner with the family -- spaghetti and meatballs.
Her cousins all dressed up for the party. As you can see she is the only little princess being protected by all her big superhero boy cousins. I think Levi as Buzz lightyear standing out in front of her is the cutest. They are best buddies. They go to preschool together. I bumped into their teacher the other day at the store and she said how cute they are together. She said hat they interact with each other more like siblings than cousins.
My sweet little princess! She has grown up so much this year. She started preschool this year, and they have a great speech program there. They tested her all out Her vocabulary, comprehension, and sentence formation is at a 6 year old level, but her articulation is at a 2 year olds level. We have known this all along and have been so excited to get her in this preschool and get her started in speech. The teacher says she is so smart and confident that she will do great. She just talks to people and has now idea that everyone, except maybe me, is catching maybe 40 percent of what she is saying. According to the speech therapist not making her feel self conscious about her poor speech was the best thing we could have done for her. Already she has made a lot of progress and we are hoping, with the help of this wonderful therapist, she will be up to speed by kindergarten. I have to say as her mommy I will miss her little baby talk, and funny articulation. But I know it will be impossible for her to spell if she can not articulate and sound out words correctly. I am so proud of how hard she is working on it, and so grateful for her great speech therapist.
After dinner we had cake and opened presents. It was a very simple fun Birthday with the family.
We sure love our sweet, determined, spunky, fireball Abigail. Everyday is an adventure with her and she keeps our whole family on their toes. She loves school, homework, dollies, coloring, stamping, cutting things into the tiniest little pieces that won't vacuum up, changing her clothes, Levi, and anything that her big brother does. Her and Joshua are almost inseparable, and he is the sweetest most protective big brother. Although, her favorite thing to do right now is ignore everyone except mommy, I love the extra loving but am sometimes ready for her to start sharing it around. I am sure she will grow out of it soon, I think she is nervous about the idea of a new baby coming.
