Pictures

Nothing has really been happening in the Bailey household so I haven't posted anything in a while. Caleb has been plugging through his third year and will start his last year of med school in February! The weather has gotten really cold and the days short so Joshua and I have been desperately trying to entertain ourselves indoors. Something I hate, I really don't like many indoor activities so I am already looking forward to our Christmas trip to California. Only one more winter after this!!! Hooray!! One thing Joshua has loved lately is his cape. My friend made Joshua this great hooded towel for my baby shower and lately he has been wearing asa a a cape while he plays. It is really funny.

The other day we got our edited family pictures back from my friend Vanessa. They turned out so great, I was so happy! These are a couple of my favorites.

Proposition 8 Passsed!!!!

I was born and raised in California and my family all lives there. Caleb and I are still registered to vote in California mainly so that we could help vote on Proposition 8. We have been following it really close and shocked to hear some of the outrageous and aggressive behavior the supporters of proposition 8 faced. We are so glad that it passed again!! I was living in California when Prop 22 was on the ballot and went around door to door then. The public voted and it won with an overwhelming 61%. Then only 4 of the Supreme court judges of California reversed it, which is unbelievable that they would be able to override the voice of the people. Both times this issue was on the ballot the Church came out strongly against it. They have made it very clear that they will never tell their members who to vote for, but that this is not a political issue it is moral. I attached some of the broadcast that the church did to the members of California regarding the issue, I thought it was excellent. I also attached a commercial that the no on Prop 8 was showing in California. It made me so angry but shows what the members of California have had to go through to stand for their moral beliefs. We must stand strong and as morality lessons more and more we will often stand alone.
Preserving Traditional Marriage and Strengthening Families

In March 2000 California voters overwhelmingly approved a state law providing that “Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.” The California Supreme Court recently reversed this vote of the people. On November 4, 2 008, Californians will vote on a proposed amendment to the California state constitution that will now restore the March 2000 definition of marriage approved by the voters.

The Church’s teachings and position on this moral issue are unequivocal. Marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God, and the formation of families is central to the Creator’s plan for His children. Children are entitled to be born within this bond of marriage.

A broad-based coalition of churches and other organizations placed the proposed amendment on the ballot. The Church will participate with this coalition in seeking its passage. Local Church leaders will provide information about how you may become involved in this important cause.

We ask that you do all you can to support the proposed constitutional amendment by donating of your means and time to assure that marriage in California is legally defined as being between a man and a woman. Our best efforts are required to preserve the sacred institution of marriage.

Here is a link to the No on Prop 8 commercial that... it is so ridiculous and out of line. I love how they fail to mention the Catholic church and all the other thousands of supporters and contributors of Prop 8.

Halloween

Joshua was a very cute lion for Halloween. He loved wearing his costume. His favorite part of Halloween was knocking on doors, he didn't care about candy or any of that he just thought it was so fun to walk up to a house and knock on the door. He also loved the pumpkins.

I dressed up like a clown and Caleb was going to be a lion tamer, so we would have been circus people. I couldn't figure out Caleb's costume without buying some stuff so he kind of ended looking like a clean cut Indiana Jones, oh well.
