Chris and Grandpa's Visit

So I know this was months ago now...but better late than never. At the end of April Caleb's brother Chris and his dad came to visit. It was a quick trip but very fun. Chris Just got home from  his mission from El Salvador in January so it was his first little vacation. We loved having him and the kids adored him, and luckily he was very patient with them wanting to be with him every second.

We went to Chrystal Cove and boogie boarded and dug in the sand. We ended the day watching the sun set over the Ocean as we ate our dinner at Ruby's Diner right there. It was such a fun day.

While they were here we had our Mormon Helping hands day and helped put in Heritage Park. It was fun to see everyone together in the community working on such a huge project.

The last night they were here we had Caleb's Great Aunt over for dinner, she is a wonderful lady and it was fun to hear all her stories.

Easter

We had a great Easter. We did our normal Easter tradition of reading scriptures of Jesus' last week, and having a little "Last Supper". Which I always love doing to help the kids understand Easter.  Don't mind Abigail's crazy hair, she is really into brushing her hair several times a day, which just doesn't work when you have curls :)

Friday we got "egged". Some one put a basket and plastic eggs all over our front yard for the kids to find. It was so sweet and the kids had so much fun.

Saturday before Easter Grandma and Grandpa Bailey and Joseph came. The kids were so excited. For the whole week before they came Abigail would wake up and go check the guest room to see if Grandma came yet! Saturday afternoon we all dyed eggs together.

On Easter Caleb's uncle, aunt and cousins came over. We all went to Church, then had a delicious Easter Brunch, and an Easter egg hunt. Caleb had to be at work at 4pm so we had the Brunch instead of a dinner. It was a wonderful day and we had so much fun being with the family and having them here.

Grandma and Grandpa stayed for a whole week! It was so much fun. Grandma and Abigail had a little tea party together. Everyone had to wear hats, and we had cute little dishes. It was really cute and fun. They are lucky to have such nice wonderful grandparents and a very patient fun uncle.

One of the days they were here we went to San Diego. We went out on Coronado, Old Town, and the USS Midway.

We also spent one day in LA. We went to the La Brea tar pits, and hiked to the Hollywood sign. I have lived in California most my life and had never seen the Hollywood sign or been to Hollywood, so it was pretty exciting.  It was a really fun day together.

So all together it was a very fun and memorable Easter, and a great visit with Grandma and Grandpa and Joseph. The kids are already asking when they are coming again to visit.

Spring Catch Up

After our little catastrophe with our last batch of chickens we decided the kids needed some new ones. We got a lot more this time, since last time we kept loosing one here and there until our flock was too small. I have discovered it is much easier to get more at the beginning than trying to add some in latter.  The kids love them and named them all! They are about three months old now and getting big!
Grandma and Grandpa Beifuss came to visit for a few days. We went to the Perris Train Museum. It was awesome, I have never seen that many neat old trans, and trolleys in my life. It was especially fun to go with my cousin and Aunt and parents since they all grew up in LA and remembered riding on several of the trams and trolleys. They had lots of fun stories.

Joshua had two weeks off for spring break, and Caleb had a week of nights. Therefore the kids and I went up to Solvang for a week to be with cousins.

We had a lot of fun together. It was wonderful to have a break from the routine of school.

Since Caleb had a day or two off here and there during Spring break we went to Disneyland a couple of times.  Joshua and Abigail did not know that we got passes. We picked Joshua up from his last day of school all ready to go. We told him we were going on an adventure, but would not tell him where. They were so excited when we pulled up. We went three times during his two week break.

We also went to Newport beach for a day. We had a picnic, played at the beach and went whale watching. It was such a fun day, I really like Newport. Well at least to visit, I don't do well living around so many people :). Thus our move to the Santa Ynez Valley which only has 30,000 people and lots of vineyards, ranches and other beautiful things.

Abigail is doing well. She still loves to dress up several times a day and is working on writing her name. She is still as feisty and fun as ever. She keeps things lively and we love it. She has always been a terrible sleeper and has always snored extremely loud. Like an old grandpa that you can hear two rooms away. So I started looking into it and now we are pretty sure she has pediatric sleep apnea. Which if not taken care off can cause lots of problems. Especially for learning development. Basically they never get REM sleep and are too tired to concentrate. We are taking her to an ENT next week to see what they say. Caleb is guessing she may need her tonsils out, because when he looked back in her throat he saw that they were so big that they were touching and almost closing off her throat. So at night when she starts into REM sleep her soft palate releases and dips too low. Between that and the tonsils it completely constricts her air way and makes her gasp and wake up.  We will keep you updated on what the ENT says.

Joshua is doing great. He is so thoughtful and inquisitive. He asks me thousands of questions about everything all day long. He is getting a little tired of school and ready for Summer break. I think we all are. He is extremely excited to move right down the street from his cousin Ezra and to especially get to go to school with him next year. He plays hard, laughs hard, and thinks deeply. He is a funny unique little boy and we love him.

We are definitely looking forward to moving up there this summer. Right now we are busy getting our house here ready to sell and also picking out all our stuff for our new house! I am so excited! It wont be ready until November which is a little bit of a bummer. So if anyone knows of any cheap rentals in the Valley for a few months :).  The house is on a 1/3 of an acre and has amazing views (the picture of the lot doesn't do it justice. It is a Spanish style, which will fit in well in California. I am just most excited about picking out all my interior stuff, and putting in my backyard. I have already drawn out a plan and everything, I know I am jumping the gun but I just can't wait.

So that is pretty much what we have been up to. I am going to post about Easter separately. I hope you are all doing well.
